This page explains what information HTMLStudio collects, how it's used, and the choices you have about it.

01Overview

HTMLStudio ("we," "us," or "our") provides a workspace for building, editing, and deploying static websites. This policy covers the information we collect when you use HTMLStudio, why we collect it, and how you can control it.

By using HTMLStudio, you agree to the collection and use of information as described here. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

02Information we collect

We collect only what's needed to run your account and the workspace itself.

Account informationName, email address, password (hashed)
Project contentHTML pages, assets, and links you add to your workspace
Usage dataPages visited, features used, timestamps
Billing informationHandled by our payment processor — we don't store card numbers
Device dataBrowser type, IP address, general location

03How we use it

  • To provide, operate, and maintain your workspace and projects
  • To process payments for paid sites and renewals
  • To send account-related notices, such as renewal or export confirmations
  • To detect, prevent, and address technical issues or abuse
  • To improve the product based on aggregated, non-identifying usage patterns

We do not sell your personal information or your project content to third parties.

04Third-party services

HTMLStudio integrates with services you choose to connect, including:

  • GitHub — if you connect your account, we push your project files to the repository you authorize.
  • Payment processor — handles billing for paid sites; we never see or store full card details.
  • Hosting providers — GitHub Pages, Cloudflare Pages, Netlify, Vercel, Amazon S3, or any host you deploy to. We are not responsible for how those services handle data once your files are deployed there.

05Storage & retention

Your project data is stored for as long as your account or site remains active. For paid sites specifically:

  • If a paid site isn't renewed, it becomes read-only — you can still view and export your files.
  • It remains recoverable for 12 months after the renewal date.
  • After 12 months without renewal, the project and its data are permanently deleted.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.

06Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate information
  • Export your project files at any time via ZIP download
  • Request deletion of your account and data
  • Object to or restrict certain kinds of processing

To exercise any of these rights, email us — see the contact section below.

07Cookies

We use a small number of cookies to keep you signed in and remember your workspace preferences. We don't use cookies for third-party advertising. You can disable cookies in your browser, though some parts of the workspace may not function correctly without them.

08Children's privacy

HTMLStudio is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we'll remove it.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this policy occasionally. If changes are significant, we'll notify account holders by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page always reflects the most recent version.
